Day 137: Remaining gutters & fascia installed

Hi friends,
The remaining roof gutters and fascia's for the left side of house, above the portico, and the above the garage door was installed today however they still need to install the roof gutter above the garage right side wall.
It's been over 3 months and they still haven't installed roof tiles. I am quite concerned about the length of time the timber frame have been exposed to the weather however I was advise that the roof tiles should begin on Monday or Tuesday so hopefully it will be.

Day 133: Roof guard rail protection installed

Hi friends,

We are glad that the roof guard rail protection had been installed today and it is a sign that the roof tiles will be installed soon so hopefully the weather will be good enough to allow the roof tilers to do their work. Apart from the installation of the roof guard rail protection the electrician finished installing the remaining electrical and network cables, so electrical rough in is done.

Day 130: Electrical rough in (Friday 21.05.2010)

Hi Friends,

The electrician came on Friday 21.05.2010 to place the electrical and network cable around the house, they need to do this before the plasterboards get installed. In some spots they haven't finished placing the cables so most likely they will be back on Monday to finish it off. I'm still waiting for the roof tiles to be installed and I hope they will do it this week.

Day 120 & 121: Gas plumbing and plumbing Inspection

Hi friends,

Yesterday the plumbers layed the gas pipe from the gas main to the house. Today I had a site meeting with the SS and after our meeting one of the Plumbing Commission Inspector came to inspect the plumbing works, I was totally surprise that there was such an inspection. I didn't ask him whether the plumbing works was ok but now I'm very curious LOL.

Day 119: Bricking - window sills & half of front columns

Hi friends,

The last leg of the bricking journey is about to end with about 80% of the window sills and 50% of the facade columns been bricked. If the weather holds up I believe the bricking should be finished in the next couple of days and hopefully the roof tile can begin straight after.

Day 116: Bricking - all house walls completed

Hi friends,

Bricking is about 98% done with all the house walls completed including the alfresco columns. What is left are the window sills, some more bricking to the front porch, and the masonary blockwork column at the front of the house. It's nearly done.

Day 115: Bricking - top half or rear and part right side

Hi friends,

More progress made today despite the slight rain in the morning. The brickies completed the top half between the rear wall on the left side and around to the bedroom 2 window. If the weather is not to bad tomorrow then they should finish bricking the rest of the walls between the kitchen area sliding door and the rear garage door. After that they probably start bricking the columns/posts. So far the bricking looks good around most part of the house however I notice there were some problems with the brickwork around the alfresco area where the perpends are mis-aligned and they are very noticeable. Also, some section of the rear wall the perpend is slightly out of line. Looks like I will have to raise this with the SS to get it fixed.

Day 114: Bricking - rear and right side of house

Hi friends,

There were more bricking to the house with the brickies fully completing the area in the alfresco where the sliding door and windows are and they also bricked the bottom half for the bedroom 4 walls, the rear house walls, and the whole right side walls up to the garage. Maybe another couple of days before the bricking is fully completed. Sorry for the quality of the photo's as it was taken from a mobile phone

Front wall is completed, the porch still need the brick columns. Can you see the difference between the wet mortar and the dried mortar?

Day 113: Bricking - top half of front and left side

More progress was made today with bricking to the top half of the front, left side wall, around the rear living room door, and the meal room area completed. The brickies setup the scaffold around the alfresco area so I hope there will be more progress made tomorrow. I hope it doesn't rain but it's MELBOURNE so most likely it will LOL.

Day 112: Bricking - Alfresco and rear house

Hi friends,

More bricking was done today with the brickies doing the alfresco and left rear side of the house up to the laundry door. It looks like bricking to the right side of the house will begin when the left side of the house is fully completed. At the moment most of the bricking are only done half walls because of the height. This afternoon the brickies setup the scaffold at the front of house to begin bricking the top half. One of brickie think they should finish by end of this week but this depends on the weather, I doubt they will because the weather forecasts showers or two throughout this week.
